Introduction

Protecting your privacy is important to the Centre de développement du porc du Québec inc (hereinafter "CDPQ"). For this reason, we have implemented protection measures and sound management practices for your personal information in accordance with the laws applicable in Québec and Canada.

The person responsible for processing personal information is responsible for determining the purposes for and means of processing personal information. They undertake to protect the personal information collected, not to pass it on to third parties without your knowledge and to respect the purposes for which the information was collected.

In addition, the person responsible for processing personal information undertakes to notify you in the event of correction or deletion of personal information, unless this would entail disproportionate formalities, costs or steps for the CDPQ.

If the integrity, confidentiality or security of your personal information is compromised, the person responsible for processing information undertakes to inform you by any means available.

Collection of personal information and cookies

Personal information, such as the user's name, telephone number, e-mail and postal addresses, company and profession, is only collected if the user provides it voluntarily. In such cases, the information is used solely for specific purposes (e.g. registration form to receive our publications, membership form for our specialized programmes, news magazine, etc.).

Certain information of a non-personal nature, such as the details of the Internet service provider or the name of the operating system, the duration of the consultation and the nature of the queries made during visits, may be collected. This is done by means of a "cookie," a tiny piece of information sent to the Internet user's browser and stored on their hard drive. The information collected in this way is used to improve users' online experience and to provide the CDPQ with information on the number of visitors to its site. The recipients of the data are exclusively authorized CDPQ employees and specialized service providers that the CDPQ may use to analyze the data.

Recent versions of the main browser types make it possible not only to prevent cookies from being stored, but also to carry out browsing sessions at the end of which all cookies installed during that particular session are automatically deleted, regardless of their expected lifespan, thus offering better tracking protection.

If you decide to deactivate cookies, you will still be able to continue browsing the site. However, any malfunction of the site caused by this manipulation cannot be considered to be our fault.

Sharing and retention period for personal information

We undertake not to sell or market to third parties the personal information collected.

Unless otherwise permitted or required by applicable law or regulation, we will retain your information only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including any legal, accounting or reporting requirements, and subject to any additional agreements you have made with us.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy to ensure that it complies with applicable law. If we do so, we will post the revised Privacy Policy and update the date at the top of the page.

You are therefore invited to consult this confidentiality policy regularly in order to keep up to date with the latest changes.

Acceptance of the confidentiality policy

By browsing the site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and accept its terms and conditions, particularly with regard to the collection and processing of your personal information and the use of cookies.

The practices described in this privacy statement are specific to the CDPQ website. The sites of other organizations to which links are provided may apply other criteria, and users who visit these sites are invited to read the rules that govern them.
