Our board of directors is composed of twelve people, elected by CDPQ members in good standing at our annual general meeting. The wide range of professional skills of the directors as well as their experience and ongoing involvement in the Quebec pork industry give the board a recognized representativeness among the industry’s stakeholders. A resource person designated by the MAPAQ is also present to support the directors.
Serge Couture Chair
Mr. Serge Couture is a ventilation specialist. Now retired, he has developed over the last 43 years extensive expertise in the swine industry.

His career has led him to sit on the board of directors of the Association du Congrès du Porc for 25 years and to hold various positions, including that of president on two occasions. He is one of the founders of the Porc Show and still a member of its board.

He has been a director on the CDPQ board since 2019 and its president since June 2021.
David Boissonneault Vice-chair
Mr. David Boissonneault owns and operates a sow barn in Lyster as well as cranberry fields. He holds a diploma from the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire (ITA) of Saint-Hyacinthe.

His career led him to work with the Éleveurs de porcs du Québec and to hold the chairman position from 2011 to 2017 while also sitting on various boards of directors.

He has been ​a member of the board of directors at CDPQ since 2020. He now serves as vice-chair since October 2023.
Dan Bussières Administrator

Mr. Dan Bussières is an agronomist. He received his bachelor’s degree in animal sciences from Université Laval in 1996.

Since 2004, he has been the co-owner of Groupe Cérès inc., a company that provides services across Canada in all industry sectors connected to hog production.
His knowledge and drive are put to good use for the benefit of the pig industry, whether through conferences, or participation in a host of activities and working committees.

He has been ​a member of the board of directors at CDPQ since 2018.

Richard Ferland Administrator
Jeannine Chartrand is co-owner with her husband of a farrow-to-finish pork farm in St-Zéphirin de Courval, in the Centre-du-Québec region.
 
She holds a DEC in animal production and a degree in administration from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. For over 20 years, she has been actively involved in various organizations.
 
She is currently president of Covris coopérative and a director of Sollio, Groupe Coopératif. She is also involved in the UPA for the Centre-du-Québec region as a member of the board of directors and acts as treasurer on the executive committee.
 
She has been a member of the board of directors at CDPQ since April 2023.
Sylvain Fournaise Administrator
Dr. Fournaise is the Vice President of Food Safety, Quality Management, and Research and Development at Olymel, where he has been a part of the team since April 1, 1998.

He holds a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, which he obtained in 1985 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Montreal in St-Hyacinthe. Additionally, he completed a Master's degree in Food Science and Technology at Laval University.

With over 35 years of experience in food processing, Dr. Fournaise plays a pivotal role at Olymel, leading a team responsible for quality assurance and food safety programs. He also takes charge of Olymel's Research and Development department.

His active participation in various committees of different associations, including the Canadian Meat Council and the Quebec Swine Health Team (EQSP), has equipped him with robust experience in governance and collaboration with diverse stakeholders in the industry.

He has been a member of the board of directors at CDPQ since September 2023.
Yvan Lacroix Administrator
Mr. Yvan Lacroix has been a business advisor to the Association québécoise des industries de nutrition animale et céréalière (AQINAC) since 2020, following 18 years as its chairman and CEO.
He is also the CEO of the Association des négociants en céréales du Québec inc.

His academic training in administration—marketing major—at the Université de Sherbrooke led him to work in the marketing of products, programs, and services related to the food and animal health industries as well as to sit on various boards of directors.

He has been ​a member of the board of directors at CDPQ since 2004.
Marie-Ève Lambert Administrator
Ms. Marie-Ève Lambert earned a PhD in veterinary medicine from Université de Montréal in 2004 and a PhD in epidemiology (PRRS) in 2012.
 
She began working as an assistant professor in swine medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medecine in 2017. Since 2020, she has also been at the head of the Laboratoire d'épidémiologie et de médecine porcine (LEMP). 
Her research focuses on the epidemiology and control of swine diseases, and she is also involved in the development of decision support tools for people working in the swine industry.
 
She has been ​a member of the board of directors at CDPQ since 2018.
Gilles Laverdière Administrator

Mr. Gilles Laverdière holds a Bachelor’s degree in Bio-Agronomy from Laval University since 1990. He worked as a swine production representative for an agricultural cooperative from 1990 to 1994.

He also completed a Certificate in Pedagogy for Vocational Education at Laval University in 1998 and has been a swine production teacher since 1994 in the professional animal production program at the Centre de formation agricole Saint-Anselme for the Côte-du-Sud School Services Center.

He has been a board member at CDPQ since September 2023.

Marie-Pierre Létourneau-Montminy Administrator
Ms. Marie-Pierre Létourneau-Montminy holds a PhD in animal nutrition. She is an associate professor working in the swine and poultry departments at Université Laval.

Her numerous research publications make her a recognized authority in the swine industry. She is also in charge of the University Laval Partnership Research Chair ''Alternative Feeding Strategies for Pigs and Poultry: Systemic Approach for Sustainable Development'' and the Canada Research Chair '' Sustainable Animal Protein Production''.

She has been ​a member of the board of directors at CDPQ since 2018.
François Nadeau Administrator
Mr. François Nadeau is the co-owner of three pig operations in Saint-Sébastien, in the Montérégie region—a farrow to wean unit/facility, a nursery unit, and a finishing barn on three separate sites.

Following his university studies in administration and finance, he worked in the banking industry for 6 years before starting his own company in the early 2000s. Since 2017, he has served as CEO of the Éleveurs de porcs de la Montérégie, as a director on the Éleveurs de porcs du Québec board, and on numerous boards and committees.
 
He has been ​a member of the board of directors at CDPQ since 2018.
Sébastien Pagé Administrator
Mr. Sébastien Pagé is the co-owner of two farrowing barns in the Estrie region.

He graduated from the Institut de technologies agroalimentaires in Saint-Hyacinthe in 2005, and a few years later, he took over the family pig farm to ensure its continued development.

He has been an active member of the Éleveurs de porcs de l’Estrie for several years and has served as its CEO since 2020. He also sits on the Éleveurs de porcs du Québec board of directors as well as several other boards and committees. Since 2022, He has been ​a member of the board of directors at CDPQ
Réjean Vermette Administrator
Mr. Réjean Vermette is a pig farmer and the co-owner of a farrow-to-finish operation n Saint-Simon, Montérégie.
 
Throughout his career, he has been involved in various aspects of the hog industry, notably through the Société des Éleveurs de porcs du Québec and the Centre d'insémination porcine du Québec. His management experience and his governance skills led him to assume the position of CEO of the Filière porcine coopérative and to sit on the board of directors of Sollio Groupe Coopératif.
 
He has been a director on the CDPQ board since 2017 and was appointed chair in 2018 and vice-chair October 2022 to October 2023.
Sarah-Claude Vanlandeghem Advisor
Ms. Vanlandeghem is an agronomist and obtained her baccalaureate in agroenvironmental engineering at Laval University.

She has worked at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food since 2015 and has held the position of head of the pig sector since December 2020.

She has acted as an advisor to the board of directors since 2020.
Jacques Faucher CEO of CDPQ
Jacques Faucher received a degree in business administration from Université Laval in 1996.

For nearly 20 years, he has held management positions in companies from various business sectors, such as the manufacturing (IPL, Stryker Medical), financial (Desjardins), and agri-food (Sollio Groupe Coopératif, CDPQ) sectors.

Over the course of his career, Jacques has gained experience in business acquisition and integration processes as well as great administrative skills while working within pan-Canadian organizations. He has been CEO of the CDPQ since 2017 and CEO of the CIPQ since September 2022.
