Optimization of environmental conditions in a positive pressure ventilated pig maternity unit
Building and livestock management
Aim / objectives:
The main objective of the project is to develop a strategy for ventilation, cooling and heating using positive pressure (room regulation system), which integrates the measurement of different types of probes (temperature, humidity, CO2, NH3 and static pressure), making it possible to control the atmosphere in breeding rooms in pig farms in order to optimize the comfort and well-being of the animals.
This project is funded by the ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec, as part of the support for the regional development of agriculture and agri-food, Monitrol and Centre de développement du porc du Québec.
